When I’m invited to shoot a wedding, I immediately get excited. I simply cannot wait to see the colors and details. The flowers and the dresses. The smiles, the tears, the beautiful moment when it all comes together. It’s AWESOME to be able to witness that over and over again. This wedding was no different. When Rodney and Barbara discussed with me the details of their wedding, I was over the moon. A farm, outside, October, fall decorations….right up my alley! When we met, we were so afraid that we’d melt in the 90 degree heat, that we prayed the Lord would allow the temp to drop for their big day. Then. Came. The. Hurricane. Gray, rainy, windy, soggy and totally not what they had planned on. But, like a good Bride…she had a Plan B. A sweet little church right around the corner where everyone would gather to witness the two become one. I never saw anyone remain so calm under such an extreme circumstance. No tears, no complaints; they were just focused on the moment and knew that everything would turn out just right. That’s what it takes to make it through. Learning to roll with whatever life may throw and you and knowing that God is in control. You guys impressed me so much with your ability to laugh through a “less than perfect” situation and it was just lovely seeing you together. I had such a wonderful time meeting you and your friends and family and watching how happy everyone was for you. Thank you for allowing me be a small part of such amazing moments in your life. It was beyond fun. I hope you enjoy you photos…congratulations. ❤ xoxo (and yes, I included the blue sky location photo I took initially, because I wanted everyone to see how beautiful your spot was) 🙂
